I am so happy I ordered this watercolor kit. It has a wonderful selection of beautiful and complete colors and high-quality brushes. It can be used for many things; everything from children’s parties to your own watercolor pursuits. Will definitely order again.

This is a really great set of brush pens for beginners and advance artists alike. They create an effect close to watercolor. That’s really neat since watercolors require a bit of a setup. These can travel in a pouch with a sketchbook and are ready to use at any time. Of course they don’t fully replace the fine art of aquarelle paintings but even beginners are able to create amazing paintings. Five stars from me. I hope it helps to make a decision.

Here is what I like about this kit.- Comes with a lot of colors.- colors are pigmented and vibrant.- Fine liner pen come handy for drawing or urban sketching- This kit has sketchbook too which make is a complete kitHere is what I struggled with:- While use wet-on-wet technique, the tip of the brush transfer all the color to the paper as expected but the paint doesn’t rush back in to the brush tip. I struggled with bringing the pigment back to the tip. I had to rub the brush tip on the dry paper to get the paint back on the brush tip.- Quality of watercolor paper is bad. It doesn’t perform well for wet in wet and also paint doesn’t lift properly.Overall I am ok with the brush pens but not happy with how painting looked on the watercolor paper.

I love getting art products in a set so I have an inkling of what the maker had in mind for how to use it. This set came with two pads of watercolor paper, 20 sheets (300gsm) each, A5 size (210x148mm), cold pressed, acid free and non-toxic. Each piece of paper had a rough side and a fine smooth side. You also get 2 different paintbrushes, a round #2/0 and a wide, flat, slanted head #4. Also 2 fineliner black pens and 46 vivid colors brush pens, blendable, non-toxic. Whenever I get a new box of paints, markers, etc. I love to swatch each of the colors in my sketch book (this is my second big one and it is almost full) as well as a color chart if the set comes with one. I love seeing all the colors, While this set didn’t come with a color chart per se, it did come with the two pads of paper and so I figured I could test the paper at the same time I was checking out colors. My sketch book has a very mild rough surface, so I got to try out three different surfaces with these brush pens. I liked using the smooth paper the best. The other side of that paper, the rough side, I felt was difficult to paint on with the colors. I had to work to get the paint to show well in an approximately 1″ x 1/3″ spot which is the size of the spots that I used in my sketchbook to see clearly each color. I did note that the paint did do some minor creeping along the valleys of the rough paper. I did try using the paint and then adding water to it which made it spread some, but the main spot that I had colored first was still obvious. The color didn’t spread out evenly. I realize after using this set, that I will have to find some classes on using these types of paints.I find it amazing just how many different types of art supplies there are and how many different techniques to learn. I have never had an art class and I am already 67 so I have a lot to learn in not a lot of time. I am enjoying learning new things which for those of us senior citizen is a good way to keep our brain working well. I especially love seeing the great colors. Everytime I paint or color a rosy pink, I can almost feel the stress oozing out and my heart being lifted.I appreciate the opportunity to try out this art box. Thank you.

I love these pens! I love painting, using art supplies and being creative in general. Over the last year, I have been getting interested in watercolors and have been trying all things related (cake palettes, tubes, colored pencils). I use water brushes with watercolor palettes and love to use those because I can use them anywhere and I find them very clean. I have always wanted to try self-contained watercolor brushes and when I received and tried these I was pretty impressed. They work wonderfully and are very similar to my water brushes. The big difference is that the color remains constant with these pens and if I want an area darker, I don’t have to reapply some paint to my brush, I just make another stroke with the pen. These pens make watercolor painting so easy and simple. I would recommend these to anyone wanting to learn more about or to try watercolor painting. Everything is included and you only need creativity and paper and you are ready to create your masterpiece!

I absolutely adore this set! First of all, I love the products themselves, and use them quite often in my practice/ warm up exercises. I think they are a wonderfully creative and volatile art tool that can make for some nice loose styled watercolor illustrations and fast sketches. They loosen me up. So, yeah, I love this set, because I already love this style of watercolor brush pens, as they have actual brush and not felt marker tips. The set is spectacularly presented, in a nice box containing 45 different colored brush pens, two regular craft paintbrushes, a clear brush pen, two black fine liners, and two watercolor sketchpads,I believe A5 sized. The set would make a great gift. I know it made me very happy. And I have three huge drawers full of paint sets, most of which are artist grade. But I love these brush pens, too. They are beautifully colored, and tend to loosen me up creatively. In fact, I enjoy using them between drawing practice, and serious painting, as I would do for a commission. I also enjoy using them for 1-3 minute life drawing sketches of people and animals ( please see my included images). Very well done, Velvet watercolor brush pens! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to test them!
